Morgan Heisman joined the Blue Devil program as a volunteer assistant coach in September, 2016.

Heisman helped to oversee Duke's goalkeeping unit in 2017, her first season in Durham. She saw Jamie Lockwood total 70 saves in 12 appearances in the net and Gabbe Cadoux earn ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors in April following an 11-save performance at Boston College. In 2018, Cadoux, Lockwood and freshman Chase Henriquez combined for a .423 saves percentage. Cadoux again received ACC Defensive Player of the Week recognition following a double-digit save performance in a February win over No. 11 Northwestern.

Formerly Morgan Kelly, Heisman was a standout goalkeeper at James Madison, earning third team All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) in 2010.

As the Dukes’ starting goalkeeper, Heisman was named to the second team All-South Region team her senior year and was tabbed the Most Outstanding Player of the CAA Tournament after leading James Madison to the league title. Heisman’s other accolades included garnering first team All-CAA recognition and being selected to the All-State (VaSID) first team.

Heisman recorded a .508 save percentage as a senior to rank fifth among all goalkeepers nationally. Her save percentage and 6.90 goals against average paced all CAA goalkeepers that year as well.

The Annapolis, Md., native also excelled in the classroom at James Madison, earning the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award on three occasions.

Prior to joining the Duke staff, Heisman spent one season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Dartmouth in 2013. That season saw the Big Green compile an 11-8 ledger and make an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Heisman also previously spent two seasons as an assistant coach at George Mason in 2011 and 2012. During her time with the Patriots, she helped coordinate team practices, several camps and clinics, team functions and travel arrangements. Her experience as a player also served her well as the director for the program's several offseason camps along with numerous other camps in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Heisman graduated from James Madison in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management. She also minored in business and human resource development.
