GREENVILLE, N.C. – UNC Greensboro cross country on Friday night participated in the East Carolina Pirate Invitational at Overton’s Lake Kristi, as the women’s team finished in fourth place while the men’s team finished in fifth place on their side.
For the women in the 6K, the Spartans were once again paced by junior Kassidy Dill, as she finished in 14thplace at 21:53.47. Right behind her in 15thplace was senior Kaitlyn Stone, as she clocked in at 21:54.13.
Senior Taylor Delaney also found a way into the top 20, as she finished the race in 17thplace at 22:02.07. In total, seven different UNCG runners finished in the top 45 on the women’s side.
In the men’s 8K, junior Alex Roy led all UNCG runner with a time of 24:33.79. Next to the finish line for the Spartans was sophomore Thomas Knepshield, as he completed the run at 25:25.51 to finish a season-best 28thplace. Sophomores Dalton Miles (36th) and Dylan Christopher (39th) along with freshman Joe Thoma (40th) also finished in the top 40.
The Spartans will now turn their attention to the SoCon Championship, which will take place on Nov. 2 in Johnson City, Tenn.
