GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro cross country on Saturday competed in the Louisville Classic, as the Spartan women finished in 18ththplace while the men finished in 24thplace.
On the women’s side in the 5k race, UNCG was led by junior Kassidy Dill as she finished in 68thplace in a field of 342 competitors. Seniors Kaitlyn Stone (71) and Taylor Delaney (82nd) also finished in the top 100 of the field.
For the men’s 8k, the Spartans were once again led by junior Alex Roy as he finished in 35thplace with a time of 24:25.8, surpassing his previous personal best at the 2017 Southern Conference Championship. Freshman Michael Zapherson was next for UNCG, as he finished in 96thplace in a field of 373 competitors.
UNCG’s next competition will take place on Friday, Oct. 18, when the Spartans compete in the ECU Pirate XC Invitational in Greenville, N.C. It is the final meet before the SoCon Championship.
