DURHAM, N.C. – Through the first two rounds of the Rod Myers Invitational taking place this weekend at Duke University Golf Club, UNC Greensboro men’s golf (290-284) is currently in fifth place at two-under par. The Spartans are just one stroke behind fourth place Liberty. 

The third and final round will take place tomorrow morning. 

UNCG was once again led by senior Jonathan Brightwell (68-70) on Saturday, as he is currently tied for fourth place at two-under par. The reigning SoCon Men’s Golfer of the Week collected 10 birdies and two double-bogeys on the day. 

Junior Nick Lyerly (73-70) is currently tied for 20thplace after a climb in the second round after he carded a two-under 70. 

Junior Justin Emmons (74-70) is in a four-way tie for 22ndplace after he too carded a two-under 70 in the second round. 

Junior Zack Swanson (75-74), meanwhile, is amongst a group of players tied for 39thplace at five-over par. 

Freshman Jack Marcotte (78-77) – who is making his collegiate debut this weekend – rounds out team play for the Spartans and is tied for 61stplace. 

In individual play, senior Ben Buben (72-78) is tied for 44thplace while freshman Noah Connor (79-76), also making his first collegiate appearance, is tied for 61stplace.
