CLEMSON, S.C. – UNC Greensboro men’s soccer (1-2) fell to No. 19 Clemson (3-0) Friday night at Riggs Field. The Tigers scored two first half goals to secure the victory.

Albert Pedra scored the Spartans’ lone goal, his second of the season, in the 33rd minute. Micah Albert put a cross into the right side of the box from the right corner, and Pedra dove forward to head the ball in just inside the right post.

Clemson’s Phillip Mayaka had the game-winning goal in the 39th minute, burying a shot in the top right side of the net from a shot on top of the oval. Grayson Barber produced the game’s first goal in the eighth minute off a pass by Kimarni Smith.

Three Things To Know
-- Tigers held the advantage in shots (13-8) and corner kicks (6-5). In the second half, the Spartans had all five of their corner kicks and outshot Clemson 6-5.

-- Casey Penland, Angel Bacho and Pedra each had two shots.

-- Goalkeeper Ricky Zarri made two saves.
