BUIES CREEK, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women’s soccer (0-1-1) tied Campbell (0-0-1) 3-3 Sunday night at Eakes Complex. The Spartans scored three-straight goals, but the Fighting Camels scored two goals in the last six minutes of regulation to send it to overtime.

UNCG took its lead eight minutes into the second half. Nicole Souply took a pass from Jordin Mosley at the top of the box and quickly moved it to a streaking Kaley Tucker in the right side of the box, who put a shot inside the left side of the post.

The Spartans doubled their lead in the 67th minute. Ashley Avelino headed down a corner kick by Gabi Santora in the right side of the box, and Maddy Gilhool was able to nudge the ball past a few defenders and the goalkeeper from a few yards out for her first collegiate goal.

Campbell cut its deficit in the 84th minute on a shot from middle of the midfield that was able to just bend inside the left corner of the net. The tying goal came three minutes later. After a defensive miscue, the Camels put the ball into an empty net from a few yards out.

Isabelle Blomdahl scored the Spartans’ first goal of the season in the 24th minute. Mosley took a pass from Cienna Rideout all the way from the midfield into the right corner and fed Blomdahl a cross deep in the left side of the box.

Campbell’s goal came in the 13th minute when Katie Lockwood chipped in a shot from a few feet out off a cross from the corner.

UNCG returns to action next Friday at 4 p.m. for another road contest against Richmond.
