PINEHURST, N.C. –UNC Greensboro men’s golf (283-294) through two rounds of the 2019 Southern Conference Championship sits in first place after the Spartans on Monday shot a six-over 294. Heading into the third round, UNCG leads ETSU by four strokes as the Spartans look to win a second SoCon Championship.   

The third round will begin tomorrow morning and live stats will be available via Golfstat.com.

Sophomore Nick Lyerly (69-69), the reigning SoCon Individual Champion, currently leads the field at six-under after carding a three-under 69 in the second round. During Monday’s play, Lyerly totaled six birdies with three coming on the front- and back-nine apiece.

Lyerly is attempting to become just the eighth player to win back-to-back SoCon Individual Championships in conference history.

Fellow sophomore Zack Swanson (68-76) is currently tied for fifth place after completing the second round at four-over 76. He opened the day with a birdie on Hole 1.  

Senior Bryce Hendrix (74-72) also ranks in the top 10 through 36 holes after finishing the second round at even-par 72. In ninth place, Hendrix tallied three birdies and three bogeys on Monday.

Junior Jonathan Brightwell (72-77) is currently tied for 17th place after finishing second round action at five-over 77.  

Junior Grant Powell (79-78) improved by one stroke in the second round with a six-over 78 highlighted by a birdie on Hole 3.
