Contact Teddy Meyers

Teddy Meyers, a 2007 graduate and 12-time letterwinner of the Saint Joseph's men's cross country and track teams, enters his fourth year as the assistant coach of the women's cross country and track and field teams in 2018-19.

Additionally, Meyers enters his 11th year as the assistant coach of the men's cross country and track and field teams and fourth year as the recruiting coordinator for both programs.

Meyers assists in all facets of the cross country programs and works primarily with jumpers and sprinters during both men’s and women’s track and field seasons.

From 2014-18, Meyers worked directly with Claudine Andre, one of the most decorated high jumpers in SJU women's track and field history. During that time, Meyers coached Andre to 45 top-ten finishes; she won 12 titles, including a trio of championship titles as a senior at the 2018 A-10 indoor and outdoor meets and the 2018 ECAC indoor meet, and earned 12 second-place finishes, including the 2018 ECAC outdoor silver medal and five silver-medal A-10 performances over her freshman, sophomore, and junior campaigns. To cap it off, Meyers saw Andre not only qualify for the 2018 NCAA East Regional Preliminary Rounds twice (2016, 2018) but saw Andre battle with the best of them en route to a tie for 13th-place in 2018. Meyers helped Andre to a mark of 5' 7" or higher 28 times over her career, including a school-record indoor mark of 5' 9 1/4".

On the 2017 cross country scene, Meyers guided the men's squad to the A-10 silver medal, marking the seventh time over a nine-year span that SJU finished as one of the top three teams in the conference, and to the IC4A Championship bronze medal, marking the fourth time in a five-year span that SJU finished as one of the top three teams at the IC4A meet. On the women's side, Meyers helped the Hawks to a fifth-place finish in an expanded ECAC field.

On the 2016-17 track and field scene, Meyers coached women's sprinter Nathaniela Bourdeau to both the 100m and 200m titles at outdoor A-10s, which led to Most Outstanding Track Performer accolades. At the ECAC indoor meet, Meyers coached Courtney Foster to the 400m gold.

In 2015, Meyers helped guide the men’s cross country squad to the 2016 Atlantic 10 title and IC4A silver medal and the women’s cross country squad to a seventh-place finish, a six-place improvement from the previous year.

Meyers coached successful sprinters and jumpers on both the men’s and women’s side in 2015-16, including Andre, who turned in back-to-back A-10 silver medals and represented Saint Joseph’s at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds.

Overall, Meyers has helped guide the men's Hawks to a pair of first-place finishes (2015, 2009), a trio of second-place finishes (2017, 2013, 2012), and a pair of third-place finishes (2014, 2011) in cross country as well as back-to-back third-place finishes at the A-10 Indoor Championships from 2014-15.

A standout student-athlete at SJU, Meyers built an impressive résumé of both athletic and academic accomplishments throughout his career on Hawk Hill. Meyers was a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference cross country honoree and won both the Atlantic 10 indoor and outdoor 5k titles in 2006.

For his dedication in the classroom, Meyers was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams for the 2005-06 and 2006-07 campaigns. His six academic honors are the second most received by any track member at Saint Joseph's in program history.

In May 2007, Meyers graduated from Saint Joseph's University with his bachelor's degree in economics. The Bethel Park, Pa. native also graduated from the MBA program at SJU's Haub School of Business in 2010.
