ODU Places Second, Fransson and Konradsson Top-Five in ODU/OBX Intercollegiate
POWELL’S POINT, N.C. – After a slow start to round one, the Old Dominion men’s golf team, led by juniors Gustav Fransson and Rasmus Konradsson, roared back to place second at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, hosted by Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powell’s Point, North Carolina on Tuesday afternoon.
Entering the final round, the Monarchs were just one stroke behind North Dakota State, and even took the lead at one point, but the Bisons pulled away, posting a score of 272 for the round against ODU’s 275. The surge was led by Konradsson, who posted a Monarch-best 64, collecting seven birdies, including a stretch of five in six holes on the back nine.
Individually, Fransson posted a final-round score of 65 to lead ODU on the tournament’s final day, locking him into his second straight third-place finish with a 7-under par.
