Pasquantino and Garriola Headline VaSID All-State Honors

NORFOLK, Va. - Andy Garriola of the Old Dominion baseball team was named the VaSID Rookie of the Year, while Vinnie Pasquantino was named Co-Player of the Year. Bryce Windham also earned All-State honors, as announced by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). 

In addition to Garriola and Pasquantino's honors and First Team selections, Windham landed on the All-State Second Team. 

The VaSID Rookie of the year hit .328 with 19 doubles, 62 RBIs and 10 home runs. His 62 RBIs are an ODU freshman record and the most by any Monarch since 2011. Garriola also picked up All-C-USA First Team All-Conference honors. C-USA Freshman of the Year was also selected as a Collegiate Baseball's Freshman All-American, NCBWA Freshman All-American and a D1 Baseball Freshman All-American. 

In 2019, Pasquantino batted .302 with 55 RBIs, nine doubles and has hit 16 home runs. The Virginia native was also named to the 2019 All-C-USA First Team All-Conference. On June 5, Pasquantino was drafted to the Kansas City Royals in the 11th round, pick 319. He was also recently named to the 2019 East-ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team. 

Windham closed out his career with a .338 batting average in 2019, which led the team. The Michigan native started in all 56 games for ODU and was named to the 2019 All-C-USA Second Team All-Conference. The senior had 25 RBIs, four doubles, and three home runs. He was drafted 972nd overall by the Chicago Cubs in the 32nd round. He was also recently named to the 2019 East-ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team.
