Field Hockey Downs Boston, 7-1

Boston, MA (Sept. 30) - The second-ranked Old Dominion field hockey team used seven goals from seven different players to defeat #15 Boston University, 7-1. Old Dominion improves to 10-1 overall, 3-0 CAA.

Leading the way for the Lady Monarchs was Honda Award hopeful Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina), who tallied one goal and assisted on two others.

Also registered in the scoring column for the Lady Monarchs were Adrienne Yoder (Coopersburg, PA), Julie Miracle (Audubon, PA), and senior Teneille Williams (St. James, Trinidad & Tobago). Christina Strauss helped Boston avoid the shutout with a goal midway through the second period.

The Lady Monarchs will play the second game on their Boston road trip when they take on #11 Northeastern tomorrow. Old Dominion's next home game will be Saturday, October 7, when they host Connecticut.
