Field Hockey Blanks Rutgers, 11-0, To Sweep Home Weekend

Norfolk, Va. (Sept. 10) - The Old Dominion field hockey team posted its second shutout victory in as many games on Sept. 9 at Foreman Field on the campus of Old Dominion University. The Lady Monarchs posted an 11-0 win over Rutgers to improve to 4-1 overall. The Scarlet Knights drop to 3-1 overall.

Old Dominion had six different players in the scoring column with three of those players netting multiple goals. Senior midfielder Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina) led the scoring barrage with four goals and one assist on the afternoon. Both Adrienne Yoder (Coopersburg, Pa.) and Julie Miracle (Audubon, Pa.) tallied two goals for the winners while Yoder also put forth two assists and Miracle one. Old Dominion will take to the road this coming weekend with a Saturday tilt at North Carolina and a Sunday match-up with CAA foe William and Mary.
