COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men’s soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski announced the Terrapins’ 2018 schedule Tuesday, which includes home matches against three-time defending national champions Stanford, traditional power UCLA and reigning Big Ten Tournament champions Wisconsin.

The Terps will also play the first college soccer match at Audi Field, the home of MLS club D.C. United, on Labor Day against seven-time national champions Virginia. The schedule is comprised of 10 matches against teams that made the 2017 NCAA Tournament field, including both the reigning national champions and national runner up.

“I am delighted to announce our very exciting and challenging 2018 schedule,” Cirovski said. “The opportunity to host three time National Champion Stanford and renew our rivalry with Virginia at DC United's new home, Audi Field, are eye catching, but so is the rest of the schedule. Every team on our schedule is a potential NCAA tournament team. In addition to our strong Big Ten opponents, we will challenge ourselves against top teams from seven other conferences. I know our team and our amazing fanbase will be ready.”

Maryland begins its slate with a road trip to Washington on Friday, Aug. 24. The premier regular season college soccer match follows as the Terps take on Stanford on the first Friday night at Ludwig Field (Aug. 31).

Former ACC rivals Maryland and Virginia will square off at Audi Field on Sept. 3. The Terps and Cavaliers have faced off 80 times in a series that began in 1947. The programs have combined for 61 conference titles and 10 national titles.

The Terps return to Ludwig Field to tangle with UCLA, a match with seven combined national titles between the two programs (Friday, Sept. 7). Maryland stays at home the following Monday to welcome West Virginia (Sept. 10).

Maryland opens Big Ten play at Northwestern on Friday, Sept. 14. Reigning CAA champs William & Mary comes to College Park Monday, Sept. 17 before the Terps return to their Big Ten slate for a match with Wisconsin on Friday, Sept, 21.

A two-game road swing follows, as the Terps take on Rutgers in midweek action on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Maryland then heads to Conway, S.C., for a Sunday afternoon affair at 2017 SunBelt Champs and Sweet 16 participant Coastal Carolina (Sept. 30). The Terps finish that week with a home contest against 2017 NCAA Quarterfinalist Michigan State at Ludwig Field (Oct. 5).

The Terps make the short trip to Georgetown for an afternoon match on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 8. Maryland will then travel to face 2017 National Runners Up Indiana on Friday, Oct. 12.

Maryland finishes the season with three of its last four matches at Ludwig Field. 2016 College Cup participant Denver comes to town on Tuesday, Oct. 16 before Ohio State is in College Park that Friday (Oct. 19). Maryland final home match comes on Wednesday, Oct. 24 against Penn State.

The Terps will finish the season in Ann Arbor against Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 28.
