NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware men’s basketball head coach Martin Ingelsby has announced that Aleks Novakovich has signed with the Blue Hens and will join the UD program this fall.

Novakovich, a 6-9 forward from Hobart, Ind., averaged 11.1 points,  7.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game during his senior season at Hobart High School in 2016-17. He spent last season at Don Bosco Institute in Crown Point, Ind., where he averaged 13 points and seven rebounds.

“We are very excited to welcome Aleks Novakovich to the University of Delaware,” Ingelsby said. “Aleks is an outstanding young man who fits the type of student-athletes we want to have in our program. On the court he brings size, mobility and a skill set that allows him to stretch the floor to the three-point line.”

Novakovich is the third member of the Blue Hens’ 2018 recruiting class, along with Ithiel Horton and Matt Veretto. Delaware has also recently added transfers Nate Darling and Justyn Mutts to the program.
