DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Patty Post, the University of Delaware Director of Golf Programs, has been named the Northeast Section Coach of the Year by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Teaching & Club Professional membership.

Post was one of five college coaches to win sectional awards along with Jessica Steward of Lamar, Therese Hession of Therse Hession, Kelley Hester of Furman, and Christie Quinn. Those five are eligible for the National Coach of the Year award, which will be selected by the LPGA T&CP National Awards Selection Committee during the coming weeks.

The award is the second in four years for Post, who was named the LPGA T&CP sectional and national coach of the year in 2014.

Post is currently in her seventh season leading the Blue Hen women’s golf team, and her first as the Director of Golf Programs. She has earned CAA Women’s Golf Coach of the Year honors during each of the previous two years, while leading Delaware to consecutive conference titles.

Four Blue Hens have earned All-CAA honors during her tenure, while Andi Slane captured two straight CAA individual titles and Ariane Klotz was selected the 2017 CAA Rookie of the Year. Delaware has won eight team titles in program history, and has placed among the top three squads in three of its four fall tournaments.

LPGA T&CP members are dedicated to the advancement of golf and serve throughout the golf industry as head professionals, assistant professionals, teaching professionals, directors of golf, owners of golf schools and facilities, golf administrators, college and high school coaches, and more.
