ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico volleyball team will open its 2015 campaign with a intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday, August 20, head coach Jeff Nelson announced Tuesday.
The intrasquad Cherry vs. Silver match replaces the alumni match that was originally scheduled as the Lobos’ lone exhibition heading into the 2015 season. The Lobos will play three games, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Johnson Center on the main campus of UNM.
Admission is free, and fans will have the opportunity to meet the players and receiver autographs after the match.
New Mexico, which returns 11 letterwinners from its 2014 team that won 19 games and finished fourth in the Mountain West, will then open its regular season at the Ball State Tournament in Muncie, Ind. on Aug. 28-29.
