South Dakota State Downs North Dakota State 94-70

FARGO, N.D.--Ashley Eide scored 22 points to lead a group of four players in double-figures as South Dakota State University defeated North Dakota State University 94-70 in a Summit League women's basketball game played Saturday, March 2, before 2,043 at the Bison Sports Arena.
North Dakota State (10-18 overall, 6-10 Summit League) will play South Dakota (15-14, 10-6 Summit) in the first round of the Summit League tournament at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10, in Sioux Falls.
The Bison was led by Dani DeGagne, who scored 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Jamie Van Kirk scored 19 points including a career-high four three-pointers. DeGagne recorded her fifth career double-double.
South Dakota State (22-7, 14-2 Summit) led 54-27 at halftime and led by 30 points with 17:52 left in the second half. SDSU is the top seed in next weekend's tournament and going for their fifth straight league championship.
North Dakota State did come back and cut the lead to 69-57 with 9:44 remaining on back-to-back three-pointers from Van Kirk.
However, SDSU went on an 13-1 run over the next five minutes to squelch any comeback attempt.
South Dakota State, which scored 56 points in the paint, connected on 53 percent from field and made 19 of 22 free throw attempts. The Jackrabbits held a 40-30 rebound advantage and committed only six turnovers.
Mariah Clarin netted 17, Megan Waytashek scored 15 and Katie Lingle added 13 for SDSU. Clarin and Lingle combined for 30 of the Jackrabbits' 43 bench points.
