Bison Women Travel to Iowa State, Host Bison Open Saturday

The North Dakota State women's track & field team will host the Bison Open on Saturday, Feb. 9, inside the Shelly Ellig Track & Field Facility on the NDSU campus, and the Bison will also send several athletes to the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, to compete in one of the nation's premier indoor meets this weekend.
NDSU women running at Iowa State will include Faith Kruchowski (400m, 800m), Ashley Tingelstad (200m, 400m), Heidi Peterson (5,000m), Brecca Wahlund (3,000m), Erin Teschuk (mile, 800m), Paige Stratioti (600y, 800m), Brittany Page (200m, 400m) and a 4x400m relay.
The Bison Open will begin with the weight throw at 10 a.m. on Saturday, as well as the long jump, high jump and pole vault at 11 a.m. Running events begin with the 5,000m at noon.
Teams at the Bison Open are expected to include NDSU, South Dakota State, North Dakota, Minot State, Dickinson State, Valley City State, Mayville State, MSU Moorhead, Concordia Moorhead, Augustana, Jamestown and the University of Mary.

NDSU Women's Track & Field Notes
The Bison women currently lead The Summit League in every running event between 200m and 3,000m.
Six of the top seven women's 400m runners in The Summit League this season are Bison: 1) Ashley Tingelstad 2) Bittany Page 3) Paige Stratioti 4) Antoinette Goodman 6) Melissa Kitching 7) Ashley Heinze.
The NDSU women own the top three performances in The Summit League this season in the 200m, 400m and 800m.
Junior Ashley Tingelstad joined the national top-50 list and is currently ranked No. 37 in the nation in the 400m with her track-adjusted time of 54.54 from the Thundering Herd Classic.
