NDSU Hosts Summit League Women's Volleyball Championship Presented by Doublewood Inn

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State University will host the Summit League Women's Volleyball Championship presented by Doublewood Inn this Friday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.

No. 2 seed Fort Wayne faces No. 3 seed Oakland at 5 p.m. Friday in the first semifinal followed by No. 1 seed IUPUI taking on No. 4 seed Kansas City at 7:30 p.m.  The winners meet Saturday at 7 p.m. for the league's automatic berth in the 64-team NCAA tournament.

Advance tickets are available at GoBison.com/tickets and the Bison Sports Arena ticket officePrices each day are $10 for reserved seats, $8 for adult general admission, $5 for youth general admission ages 3-17, and $2 for NDSU students with a valid university ID.

Doors open one hour prior to the match.  Parking is available in the CF lot adjacent to the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse and the Visitors Lot E one block west of the fieldhouse.

Live video streaming of all three tournament matches will be available by subscription to NDSU All Access and live statistics will be available on GoBison.com.

IUPUI finished with a 13-3 record in league play, which marks the first outright regular season championship for the Jaguars and their second No. 1 seed in the league tournament.  It is IUPUI's first appearance since 2009.

Fort Wayne captured the No. 2 seed for the second-straight year with a 12-4 record in league play.  The Mastodons are making their fifth consecutive appearance in the league tournament.

Kansas City and Oakland tied for third place in the regular season standings, each with a league record of 9-7.  The Golden Grizzlies are the No. 3 seed by virtue of sweeping Fort Wayne during the regular season and the Kangaroos falling to the Mastodons twice.

Oakland secured its second consecutive berth to the league championship after earning its first last season.  Kansas City is making its first Summit League championship appearance since 2009.
