CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
Charlotte women’s tennis is looking to get back on the courts and the program has announced a couple of schedule adjustments for the next two weeks.
The 49ers have added a match to conclude the home slate, April 10, at 1 p.m. against Lenoir-Rhyne. It will be the finale of a three-match homestand for the Niners, who also will welcome Campbell (April 6) and Davidson (April 8) to the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex in the coming weeks.
Charlotte is slated to face in-state foe East Carolina at 2 p.m. Thursday. Because of the weather forecast slated to hit the area, the location of the match is still to be determined.
The 49ers and Pirates will clash at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex if weather permits. If inclement weather invades the area, the two teams will head to the Charlotte Indoor Tennis Club on the south side of town to compete.
Charlotte is coming off a 5-2 neutral-site loss versus Marshall Friday in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The contest served as the only regular-season Conference USA opponent on this spring’s docket, which enters its final two-and-a-half weeks before the league tournament April 20-24 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The 49ers own a 5-7 record entering Thursday’s tilt with their most recent win a 4-0 sweep over Dayton Thursday at home.
East Carolina sports a 12-7 mark but it has dropped its last three outings prior to making the trek to the Queen City. The Pirates last picked up a victory March 18 at Hampton, concluding an eight-match win streak which included all of their contests during a Spring break trip to Puerto Rico.
Charlotte leads the all-time series 20-13, including a 4-0 sweep in Greenville March 28, 2015, in the last meeting.
