Charlotte Adds Road Game At Illinois to 2021 Slate

The Charlotte 49ers, who will play in their second season in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) this fall as a member of Conference USA, have announced the scheduling of a road game at Illinois, Oct. 2, 2021, in Memorial Stadium.

The game will be the 49ers first against a Big Ten school. Charlotte played a game last season against an SEC team (Kentucky) and will face an ACC school (at Louisville), this year. The 49ers take on a Big 12 school in 2017 (Kansas State).

Charlotte’s first home game against a school from the Power 5 Conferences will also come in 2021, when the 49ers host Duke, of the ACC, Sept. 11.

The 2016 schedule has been released and includes non-conference home games against Elon and Eastern Michigan and non-conference road games at Louisville and Temple. The Conference USA slate includes four home games and four road games.

Season tickets for the 2016 campaign are currently available. Visit charlotte49ers.com or call 704/687-4949 for more information.
