Southport, SC - Hofstra cut 10 strokes off its first round score, shooting a team total of 326 Saturday, and remained in ninth place after two rounds of the CAA Championship at The Reserve Course at The St. James Plantation.

The Pride put some distance between themselves and 10th-place Dayton, extending a five-stroke advantage to 23 strokes heading into Sunday's final round.

Individually, freshman Lauren Petty shot an 82 (+10) Saturday and is in 29th place at 161 (+17). Junior Jenna Masnyk carded a 79 (+7) during her second round and is tied for 33rd at 163 (+19). Sophomore Cynthia Cheng shaved 12 strokes off her first round 89 by shooting a team-low 77 (+5) Saturday and is tied for 39th at 166 (+22). Junior Erica Barnes had an 88 (+16) Saturday to slip to 47th place at 172 (+28). Sophomore Mariel Curran had a second round 89 (+17) and is 51st at 183 (+39).

Georgia State's Charlotte Lorentzen took over the individual lead after shooting a 69 (-3) Saturday to give her a two-round total of 144 (E).

UNCW took over the team lead from James Madison with a 305 Saturday for a two-round 605. The Seahawks lead the Dukes by seven strokes.

The final round of the CAA Championship gets underway Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
