Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Baseball team will look to maintain its grip on second place in the CAA this weekend when it hosts defending champion James Madison in a three-game series. The teams will play a single game Friday and a doubleheader Saturday.

The Pride (20-15, 10-5) is coming off a 14-9 win over Fordham this past Wednesday, rallying in the sixth inning for five runs to take a 12-8 lead. Kevin Flynn had a big day for the Pride with two hits, including a double, and five RBIs. Danny Poma had his NCAA-leading 20th double of the year as well as a two-run home run in the contest as well. Dalton Rouleau added three hits and three runs scored and finished a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. Bryan Verbitsky also homered for the Pride as the offense topped the 10-run mark for the ninth time this season.

The Dukes (11-25-1, 6-12 CAA) enter the series on a two-game losing streak after dropping a Tuesday game at Maryland, 3-0, and the series finale against Old Dominion this past Sunday (6-5). Connor Brown paces the Dukes with a .333 average, three home runs and 31 RBIs. Tyler McFarland, who recently returned from injury, is hitting .440 in 50 at-bats.

Pitching matchups for the series will be Jared Rogers (0-4, 6.46) versus Patrick Toohers (1-1, 4.46) on Friday, John Tiedemann (4-3, 4.84) against Michael Howerton (0-2, 5.52) in game one on Saturday and Dave Jesch (4-0, 2.54) versus Evan Scott (1-4, 8.78) in game two.
