South Kent, CT - Hofstra shot rounds of 315 and 307 Tuesday and finished with a three-round score of 942 to place 17th at the Hartford Hawk Invitational the Bulls Bridge Golf Club. The Pride finished last in the 17-team field, 10 strokes behind 16th-place Fairfield.
Paul Bruckner was Hofstra's top finisher, tying for 59th. The sophomore shot 75 (+3) and 77 (+5) on Tuesday to finish at 232 (+16). Jonathan Farber tied for 59th after rounds of 82 (+10) and 75 (+3) gave him a score of 234 (+18). Connell McNamara shot 81 (+9) and 77 (+5) during his second and third rounds and tied for 68th with a 237 (+21). Jake Winn and Luke Smith both tied for 84th. Winn shot 80 (+8) and 82 (+10) on Tuesday, while Smith rebounded from a first round 89 to post scores of 79 (+7) and 78 (+6). The pair finished with scores of 246 (+30).
Connecticut won the event with a score of 868. The Huskies had team scores of 286 (-2) and 288 (E) on Tuesday. Jeb Buchanan of the Huskies won the individualk title as well in a four-hole playoff. Buchanan finished at 213 (-3) for the tournament after rounds of 70 (-2) and 69 (-3) on the day. Loyola's Jay Mulieri, Rhode Island's Branden Chicorka and Sacred Heart's Josh Salah also finished at -3 for the tournament.
Hofstra returns to action October 3-4 at the William & Mary Invitational.
