BOONE, N.C. - Rain delayed action at the Southern Conference Softball Championship for more than five hours on Wednesday at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium.

The tournament's first game between Furman and Samford was delayed when it began raining in the middle of the first inning and play did not resume until 3:30 p.m.

Three of the remaining four games were completed, but the final game of the day between Appalachian State and UNCG was moved to 10 a.m. on Thursday.

If the Mountaineers win, they will play at 7 p.m. tomorrow while a loss would push the Apps to the 2 p.m. contest.
