Moraga, CA – Former Saint Mary’s men’s basketball E.J. Rowland, helped guide his Telekom Bonn team to finals of the Germany-1 Championship. Telkom Bonn is tied with Ewe Baskets Oldenburg 2-2 in the finals, with the fifth and deciding game to be played on Friday.

During the championship series, Rowland’s averaging a team-best 16.5 points and 2.3 assists per game. Telekom Bonn took the opening game of the series, 74-72, as Rowland scored 10 points. In game two, when Rowland led the team with 19 points, the Telekom B squad was defeated 70-79, when he connected on 3-of-5 shots from 3-point range. In game three, Rowland was the team’s second leading scorer with 17 points, helping his squad post an 81-78 win on the road. In the fourth game of the series, Rowland scored a team-high 20 points in a 66-82 defeat.

During the regular season, Rowland played in 43 games, helping Telekom Basket Bonn post a 22-12 overall record to finish fourth overall in the top league in Germany. During the season, Rowland averaged 13.2 points per game, which ranked second on the team, and averaged a team best 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals. He also added 3.4 rebounds per outing. He shot 51.9 percent from the floor, 36.7 percent from 3-point range, and 64.6 percent from the free throw line during the regular season.
