SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Saint Mary's baseball had three players receive all-conference accolades as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.  Juniors Martin Agosta and Brenden Kalfus were named to the First Team, while freshman Collin Ferguson was named to the All-Freshman Team.

"Martin did a great job for us all year," said head coach Jedd Soto.  "He had some of the best numbers of anyone in the conference and was consistent every outing.  Brenden came on strong on strong for us the second half and provided some big runs and RBI's down the stretch.  He played exceptional defense all year.  He was named to the all-academic team the past two years and represents our program well on and off the field.  Collin did a very good job all season at first base.  He stepped up early this spring after a few injuries and became a mainstay at the corner.  He led us at the plate and had quality at bats all year against some very good pitching.  We are proud of these student athletes.  They all worked very hard and were extremely focused on helping this team reach its goals on and off the field."

For the second-straight year Agosta has been named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team.  Agosta finished the year with a 9-2 record and a 2.18 ERA.  In 103.1 innings pitched, he struck out a career-best 95 batters.  The nine wins led the WCC, while the 95 strike outs ranked second.  In conference play, Agosta finished the year 6-1 with a 2.43 ERA, in 59.1 innings pitched he struck out 55 with just 15 walks.

For Kalfus, this marks the second year in a row receiving all-conference accolades, as he was named to the Honorable Mention team last season. In 2012, he overcame a slow start to finish the season hitting .265, going 50-for-189, he scored 19 runs, hit seven doubles, a triple and two home runs with 26 runs batted in which was second on the team.  In WCC action he was even more of a force, he finished the year hitting .322, which led the team, recording 29 hits in 90 at bats with 10 runs scored four doubles, a triple and a home run with 16 runs driven in.

Ferguson hit .315 in his freshman campaign, he led the team with 58 hits, including 16 doubles and two home runs with 18 driven in.  The 16 doubles is tied for third all-time in a single season at Saint Mary's.  In his first collegiate at bat, Ferguson crushed a ball over the right field fence to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth on Feb. 18 against Southern Utah.  In WCC play, Ferguson hit .265 with 21 hits in 82 at bats, scoring 12 runs, four doubles, a home run and drove in six.
