Jacksonville, Fla. - Georgia Southern Track and Field wrapped up day one of the UNF Spring Break Invitational Friday in Jacksonville. The Spring Break Invite is the first meet of the outdoor track season for GSU.

The Eagles had two top-ten finishes in the 100 Meter Hurdle. Jasmine Billings (Lawrenceville, Ga.) ran a 13.88 taking second place, while Taylor Wade (Loganville, Ga.) took ninth running a 14.40. Dana Edwards (Athens, Ga.) placed 23rd running a 15.2.

Millicent Brooks-Millender (Douglasville, Ga.) leaped 5.6/16'08.75 in the Long Jump, taking 17th place.  Brianna Charles (Lithonia, Ga.) followed placing 24th with a jump of 4.73/15'06.25.

The Eagles had a large presence in the 400 Meter. Asea Mayfield (Marietta, Ga.) took 17th running a time of 58.48, and Kristiana Towns (Decatur, Ga.) was not far behind, placing 29th (59.86). Talisha Rice (Stockbridge, Ga.) placed 37th running a time of 1:00.78, followed by Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) who placed 50th (1:02.50).

Sara Hall (Columbia, Mo.) took 13th in the Hammer Throw. The freshman tossed a 42.61 to start the outdoor season.  

Events will continue Saturday morning.
