Christina Gilbert will begin her fifth year in 2019-20 as the Director of Operations under Jacie Hoyt and the Kansas City Women's Basketball coaching staff.

As a former national champion at the Division II level with former Summit League rival South Dakota State, Christina Gilbert brings an unparalleled and unique perspective Hoyt's staff.

Gilbert joined the Roo staff after serving as the Director of Operations from 2009-14 at Velocity Sports in Champlin, Minn. At Minnesota's premier sports performance training center, Gilbert worked with many facets of operations and administration, including extensive calendar management where she balanced training schedules for teams and individuals involving nearly 1,000 classes and monthly employee schedules at two separate locations.

Gilbert spent time maintaining the the organization's database that included over 1,500 athletes and planned and executed a budget friendly research trip among other Velocity programs from around the nation. Gilbert also implemented Velocity's social media accounts, establishing and maintaining the organization's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts and the marketing campaigns associated with them, while also maintaining and updating the Velocity website and email marketing strategy.

Prior to her stint at Velocity, Gilbert gained valuable Division I experience when she held the position of senior building supervisor for the University of Minnesota, organizing and preparing the myriad of events held at TCF Bank Stadium.

Upon graduation from SDSU, Gilbert began at the Velocity location in Burnsville, Minn., as an athlete recruiter, while during her tenure as an undergraduate, she spent time as a graphic designer for Daktronics.

Gilbert earned her Bachelor's of Science from South Dakota State University in 2007, majoring in graphic design and minoring in public recreation, while receiving her Master's of Education in applied kinesiology with an emphasis in sports management from the University of Minnesota in 2010.
