Ohio State Overview: Niksa is a school record holder and he has the distinction (entering the 2009-10 season) of being the only current Buckeye with two individual school records ... he owns the fastest time all-time at Ohio State in the 200 butterfly (1:46.07 set in 2009) and the 200 individual medley (1:45.87 set in 2008) ... he is the second-fastest swimmer ever at Ohio State in the 400 individual medley (3:49.66) ... he has scored in all three events at the Big Ten championships ... Niksa is also an Olympian ... he swam for his country of Croatia at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing ... he broke Croatian national records in the 400-meter individual medley and 200-meter butterfly at the Olympics ... this past summer at the Croatian national championships, Niksa broke his own national record and the OSU varsity long-course record in the 400 individual medley (4:21.60) and the 100 backstroke (55.50) ... he also owns the OSU long-course record in the 200 individual medley (2:00.91) ... a biology major, Niksa was named an honorable mention Scholar All-American by the National Swimming Coaches Association of America in 2009 ... he is a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic all-Big Ten honoree.

Personal: Niksa was named Most Valuable Swimmer for six consecutive years at Sportska Gimnzaija ... he is the son of Luko and Milana Roki ... has a younger brother, Antonio ... his hobbies include playing water polo, fishing, and wrestling and boxing with his brother.
