STARKVILLE, Miss. - A new 2012 Football Gameday web portal, featuring a brand-new online Fan Guide, has been launched and can be accessed at, Mississippi State athletic game operations announced. The revised gameday site allows users to access the previously produced gameday information (rosters, game activities, radio outlets, etc.), as well as the new Fan Guide site, which features interactive parking, travel, and other real-time game information. It gives fans the opportunity to browse the latest activities surrounding all seven home games at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.

Game operations personnel also announced it will use the following criteria regarding permitting bags inside the stadium. At each gate entering the stadium, a metal box, measuring 14 inches (long) by 14 inches (wide) by 8 inches (thick) will be located. Customer bags (with contents) must fit within the confines of that box, and are subject to inspection. Contents of bags must comply with stadium policies (no outside food or beverages).

A few changes this year will also impact parking and traffic:

Parking at the Thad Cochran Research and Economic Development Park (across Highway 182 north of campus) is now serviced as a paid parking lot, similar to other pay lots on the campus. The charge will be $20 per vehicle, but will provide increased security presence, restroom facilities, and will maintain its complimentary shuttle service.

Roads surrounding the stadium will close four hours prior to kickoff, one hour earlier than a year ago, and the CSpire Wireless Fan Zone will open three hours prior to kickoff.

New food and beverage opportunities will be available on the campus in the Colvard Student Union and at the State Fountain Bakery.

A one-stop shop for tailgaters called "Game Day Central" will open at the corner of Creelman Street and Stone Boulevard, where MSU Dining orders and supplies can be picked up.

The Lot 2 parking area (north end zone) has been moved across the street behind Memorial Hall due to the expansion and renovation construction.

Bulldog Club Lot B has been moved to the South Entrance at the Lloyd Ricks Building, just south and east of the stadium.

Paid Handicap Parking has been moved behind McCarthy Gymnasium and behind Perry Cafeteria near the center of campus.

Lot 18 (Barnes and Noble) has been altered due to site prep and "laydown" for the expansion and renovation of Davis Wade Stadium. It has reduced Lot 18 vehicle capacity by about 65 cars. Those vehicles will be directed to an overflow area in the grass lot just west of Lot 18 where the media has parked previously.

Lot 19 has been moved to the new paved parking lot behind Newell-Grissom, where volleyball competes.

General public parking immediately in front of the Mississippi State University Police Station, immediately east of Davis Wade Stadium, is no longer permitted.

An additional 600 spaces of paid general parking west of the Vet School, south of the stadium, will be in use.

Fans are reminded that golf cart shuttles will transport you to and from the stadium on game day. Call the Parking Assistance Center (PAC) at 325-9114.

In the event of inclement weather, which is a possibility this weekend, parking could be further affected. Fans are asked be patient as we work around both the progress surrounding the stadium and the weather issues.

Prior to game day, the Junction will open for tent placement at tailgate sites at 4 p.m. Friday, which is one hour earlier than previous seasons.
