Katelyn Bishop is in her third season with the College of Charleston volleyball program having previously served as head coach Jason Kepner’s second assistant from 2012-13. 

Bishop brings with her a wealth of high-level volleyball experience as both coach and player, having helped guide the Triangle Volleyball Club in North Carolina for four years as well as having played collegiately at the University of Southern California.

“Katelyn is very familiar with the school, city, program, and all the girls," Kepner said. "She works extremely hard and has a great technical background. Katelyn has played at a high level and can definitely share that experience with our team. She brings a tremendous amount to our gym and in our recruiting efforts."

A native of Terre Haute, Ind., Bishop graduated from USC in 2008 where she was a teammate of former CofC assistant coach Kimi Olson. As Trojans, the duo advanced to the NCAA Final Four.

Bishop was a Volleyball Magazine ‘Fab 50' selection, Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year and two-time AAU All-American throughout her prep career and spent three years with the USA Girls' Youth National Team where they won the NORCECAs and finished fourth in the World Championships.

Also bright in the classroom, Bishop earned a Juris Doctorate from Campbell Law School in May of 2012.
