GRAND FORKS, N.D. – For the fourth time in nine weeks this season, University of North Dakota freshman forward Grant Mismash has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Rookie of the Week.

Mismash collected three points and reclaimed the NCHC freshman scoring lead as North Dakota skated to a pair of wins over 10th-ranked Western Michigan last weekend at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Edina, Minn., native assisted on the game’s first goal in Friday’s 4-3 win over the Broncos, then collected a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 4-1 victory.

The three-point weekend gave Mismash 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) in 17 games this season, which tops the NCHC rookie scoring race. Mismash, a second-round draft pick of the Nashville Predators in 2017, also leads the league’s freshmen in points per game (0.82) and shots on goal (40).

St. Cloud State’s Jake Wahlin and Jimmy Schuldt were named NCHC Offensive Player and Defenseman of the week, respectively, while Denver’s Tanner Jaillet was the NCHC Goaltender of the Week.

Mismash and the Fighting Hawks close out the first half of the season Friday and Saturday at St. Cloud State.
