Former National Football League draft pick Mark LeGree joined the Georgia State football staff in the spring of 2019 as High School Relations Recruiting Coordinator.

LeGree came to Georgia State after two seasons as the head football coach at St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School in Columbus, Ga., where he also served as a physical education teacher.

LeGree was a three-time first-team All-American at Appalachian State from 2008-10, during the time that Georgia State head coach Shawn Elliott was the Mountaineers' offensive line coach. The safety was a three-time finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award as the FCS Defensive Player, and he led FCS in interceptions in 2008. He helped Appalachian State to four straight Southern Conference titles and was a member of the Mountaineers' 2007 national championship.

In 2011, LeGree was selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, and he played on the practice squad for the Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers over two years. He then spent two seasons (2014-15) with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.

Following his pro career, LeGree returned to App State to serve as an intern, working with the athletic development staff. His first coaching position was as the defensive backs coach at West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, N.C., in 2013.

A native of Columbus, Ga., LeGree earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies with a minor in business from Appalachian State in 2013.
