Tiffany Morton made the short trip up I-75 from Macon, Ga., to Atlanta to join the Hill’s staff as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator in May 2018.
Morton coached at Mercer from 2015-2018. She helped the Bears to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017-18 as Mercer won the SoCon Championship and broke into the USA Today Coaches Poll Top-25.
Morton helped coach Kahlia Lawrence who was drafted in the 2018 WNBA Draft and was three-time SoCon Player of the Year.
She was a part of back-to-back WNIT appearances for Mercer for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons as well.
Prior to Mercer, Morton as an assistant at Wagner (2014-15), graduate assistant at LSU (2013-14), assistant at Montevallo (2012-13) and a graduate assistant at Wisconsin-Whitewater (2010-12).
Morton graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2009 and earned her Masters in 2012.
“Tiffany Morton’s name just kept coming up when talking to high school and AAU coaches about who some of the top young assistant coaches are,’ head coach Gene Hill said. “She is a tremendous recruiter and her ability to relate to today’s players will be a valuable asset to our staff. She will lead our recruiting efforts as well as assist with coaching our wing players.”
