Albany, N.Y.- UAlbany (19-14, 9-7 AE) will play Manhattan (20-12, 12-6 AE) on Wednesday, March 14 at the SEFCU Arena. The Great Danes are playing in the NCAA postseason for the third time in the program's history at the Division I level. The last time UAlbany played in the postseason was in the 2006-07 season when they entered the NCAA tournament as a No. 13 seed.

• Wednesday's game can be heard on Fox Sports 980 WOFX-AM in Albany. Rodger Wyland will handle the play-by-play with Zack Bye assisting as the color analyst. The game will also be streamed on the internet and can be found on CollegeInsider.com

• UAlbany is coming off of a tough loss in the America East Conference Tournament Semifinals against Stony Brook, 57-55. Both Jacob Iati and Jayson Guerrier are coming into the CIT Opening Round Game hot from the America East Tournament, shooting about 50.0 percent from behind the arc (Iati: 4-8, Guerrier: 5-11). Sam Rowley has emerged as a key player off the bench, having averaged 19.5 minutes and 6.0 rebounds in the tournament (season average: 7.0 minutes and 1.5 rebounds)

Scouting Manhattan
• Manhattan, a MAAC affliated team, fell in its quarterfinals matchup against Siena in overtime, 84-82. Besides falling in the conference tournament, the Jaspers also may have lost its main offensive contributors, Michael Alvarado, to injury. Alvardo was averaging 8.4 points and 3.3 assists a game. The Jaspers finished the season with 20 wins which is the 11th time in the program's history that it eclipsed that many wins in a season.

• Manhttan's offense is averaging 71.1 points per game while allowing 65.1 points. The Jaspers' offense runs through junior guard George Beamon, who is the teams most accurate shooter from behind the arc shooting 42.8 percent (59-138 3FG). One of the Manhattan's achilles heels this season has been turning the ball over. The Jasper's are averaging 15.9 turnovers a game.

Series History
• UAlbany and Manhattan have met eight times with Manhattan holding the slight edge, 5-3. The last time these two teams met was back on Feb. 4, 1939 with the Jaspers taking the game 60-34 at Riverdale, N.Y. Manhattan is currently on a three-game winning streak against UAlbany.

• This will be the first time that both teams will face eachother on the Division I level. The Great Danes are 30-46 all-time against MAAC opponents, with Siena being its most consistent opponent year-in and year-out.

George Beamon is the Jaspers leading scorer this season with 18.6 points per game, shooting 48.0 percent from the floor.

Emmy Andujar, Manhattan's 6-foot-5 freshman forward, is threat both offensively and defensively, averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists a game.
