2014-15 Pre-Tryout Clinic Dates (Optional)

To prepare for 2014-15 Cheerleading tryouts, LSU offers non-mandatory clinics. By attending one or more of these clinics, you will learn exactly what to expect when trying out for LSU Cheerleading. These clinics are open to High School sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in trying out for a co-ed college team.

Clinic 1:
Feb. 22, 2014 (1-4 p.m. now at Maravich Center - Women's Practice Facility - enter at Shaq statue)
Clinic 2: March 9, 2014 (1-4 p.m. at Football's Indoor Practice Facility)
Clinic 3: March 23, 2014 (1-4 p.m. at Football's Indoor Practice Facility)

These clinics will be run by the LSU Cheerleading coaching staff. The material presented will help prepare for tryouts. Participation is suggested but not required. High school freshman and above are allowed to attend. Curriculum will include Sidelines, Fight Song and Coed Stunts. The final clinic will include a mock tryout. Tryout Details

Location: Indoor Football Practice Facility

April 11, 2014 - 6-9 p.m.
April 12, 2014 - 8 a.m.-noon: first cut on fight song, sideline and tumbling; 2-5 p.m.: 2nd cut on coed stunts
April 13, 2014 - 8 a.m.-3 p.m.: final cut and interviews; 4 p.m.: Team meeting

Female attire: Fitted shorts and fitted sleeveless waist length sports top. LSU colors or black, grey or white. Hair half up with a bow towards the back (sides pulled back: no pony tails). Game day makeup .
Male attire: Clean cut hair style, no facial hair. Polo style shirt or T-shirt with gym shorts. T-shirts should not have any advertisement other than LSU.

Episode 1 – UCA College Division 1A Cheerleading Championship
Division 1A College Cheer Squads compete for a National Championship.  These are coed teams and the University of Memphis is the defending champion.  Kentucky has won 18 national titles most recently in 2012.

Episode 2 – UDA College Dance Team Championship – HIP-HOP
Division 1A College Dance Teams compete for a National Title.  Teams can enter 2 of the 3 dance categories (Pom-Jazz-HipHop).  The University of Nevada-Las Vegas won their first National Championship in 2013. 

Episode 3 – UDA College Dance Team Championship – POM
Division 1A College Dance Teams compete for a National Title.  Teams can enter 2 of the 3 dance categories (Pom-Jazz-HipHop).  The University of Minnesota is the 4 time defending champion in Pom.

Episode 4 – UDA College Dance Team Championship – JAZZ
Division 1A College Dance Teams compete for a National Title.  Teams can enter 2 of the 3 dance categories (Pom-Jazz-HipHop).  The University of Minnesota has won 4 straight Jazz championships matching their 4 year championship run from 2003-2006.

Episode 5 – UCA College Cheerleading Championship
Division 1A All-Girl squads are featured in this episode from the College Championships in addition to coed Champions in both Division I and Division II
