University of Northern Iowa head women's basketball coach Tanya Warren has announced the addition of Allison Lathim to her staff as the program's director of operations.
Lathim joins UNI with five years of experience in women's college basketball, most notably having served as the director of operations at Wichita State University for three seasons from 2008-11. Prior to that, Lathim spent two years as a graduate manager and video coordinator for WSU.
"Allison brings a strong base of knowledge and experience to our staff," said Warren. "With her organizational skills, creativity and familiarity with the Missouri Valley Conference, she will make immediate contributions to the growth of our program. We're thrilled that Allison has joined the UNI family."
While a graduate manager at WSU, Lathim also served as a summer intern at the University of Tennessee. There she provided assistance to the Director of Women's Basketball Operations in the day-to-day operations of the Lady Vol program. Lathim was responsible for assisting with summer camps in Knoxville under legendary head coach Pat Summitt.
"I am beyond excited and thankful for the opportunity to work with Coach Warren and her staff," said Lathim. "I have always had great respect for the Northern Iowa women's basketball program and now feel honored to be part of the Panther family. I look forward to many successful seasons at UNI."
Lathim graduated magna cum laude from Newman University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She earned a Master of Education in Sport Management degree from Wichita State in 2008.
The Pittsburg, Kan., native was a two-year letterwinner at Newman University, where she was a co-captain of the women's basketball squad and earned second-team all-conference honors as a softball player.
