NEW ORLEANS, LA (Mar.11) - The Florida A&M Rattlers flexed their skills agains Texas Pan-American as they defeated the Broncs 5-0 in New Orleans, LA.
The Rattlers won two of the three doubles matches to take the doubles point. Levan Clark and Salif Kante defeated Beau Bernstein and Chetan Panditi 8-5 to take the No.1 doubles slot. Chidi Gabriel and Takura Happy downed Victor Alves and Rolf Niederstrasser 8-5 to conclude the point for the Rattlers. In the No.3 doubles slot, Fabrice Myrtil and Temuera Asafu-Adjaye were dropped by Ricardo Hopker and Sebastian Job 8-3.
In singles, the Rattlers continued to perform well as Salif Kante again won his match in the No.1 slot, defeating Bernstein 6-3, 6-0. Levan Clark's match with Ricardo Hopker went unfinished 6-1,5-5. In the No.3 slot, Takura Happy defeated Chetan Panditi 6-2, 6-4. In the No.4 slot, Chidi Gabriel defeated Rolf Niederstrasser 6-1, 6-0. Temuera Asafu-Adjaye closed out the match with a win over Sebastian Job 6-4, 6-1. The match with Fabrice Myrtil and Victor Alves was halted because the match had been decided.
The Rattlers come back to the Rattler Tennis Complex on Monday for a tough match against Lamar University. The match is tentatively scheduled for 12 noon in an effort to avoid possible inclement weather.
