CEDAR CITY, Utah - Feb. 1 - Southern Utah University gymnastics face Sacramento State and San Jose State this weekend, continuing a stretch of six consecutive road meets for the Thunderbirds.

“This weekend will really test our team with two meets so close to each other,” head coach Scott Bauman said. “We are going to have to adjust our lineups to give some of our girls who are injured a break and it will continue to give our younger athletes a chance to compete.”

Southern Utah has a three-meet winning streak against Sacramento State with victories during the 2011, 2010 and 2009 seasons. The Thunderbirds last loss to the Hornets came in 2008 when SUU fell 194.675-193.300 in Sacramento.

The latest meets between the T-Birds and Spartans have left the home team with losses. SJSU took away a victory in Cedar City in 2011 with Southern Utah earning the win in San Jose in 2010.

The meets in California are both anticipated to have live stats and a real-time blog online at www.suutbirds.com. There will not be a video feed for either meet.
