CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina - Led by junior Payne McLeod's 12th-place showing, UNCW finished sixth overall at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate on Sunday in its 2012-13 season opening tournament.

Between holes eight through 11, he again struggled with a trio of bogeys to move to three over. But McLeod again recovered and posted birdies on the 13th, 16th and 17th holes to get even.

The Seahawks return to the course on Oct. 1-2, at the Daufuski Island Intercollegiate.
