WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 24, 2012) - The Rollins women's lacrosse program has reached new heights in the latest IWLCA Poll with the Tars checking in at No.2 in the country. The Tars are only 12 points back of top-ranked Adelphi, and earned first place votes for the first time in program history.

The Tars are the only Division II program undefeated after No.1 LeMoyne after suffered a setback against West Chester, 15-12.

Rollins has played well against ranked opponents with the Blue and Gold earning four wins against teams in this week's poll, including wins over No.7 Stonehill and No.3 Limestone. The Tars also captured a win over in-state rival and 14th-ranked Florida Southern.

Rollins has used a potent combination of strong defense and quick striking offense to outscore opponents by 11 goals per game, while converting on nearly 50 percent of their free-position opportunities.

Offensively, the Tars average 18 goals per game with 10 players tallying double-digit points and 18 players registering at least one point. Add this with a stingy defense, the Tars own a perfect 14-0 record.

Cat Kelley has been the dominant force on the offensive end with 35 goals and 16 assists to lead the team in points with 54. Erica Pagliarulo leads the team with 39 goals this season and has been a tough assignment for defenses because of her quickness and feel for the game

Rollins will make a final road trip to Colorado this week to take on Regis in a pair of games, which will conclude the regular season for the Tars. Rollins will await the NCAA Selection show to see their next matchup in the postseason.
