Fitts runner-up, women place 7th
KELLER, Texas -- Senior Morgan Fitts fired an 81 in her final round as a Jackrabbit golfer and finished as the runner-up at the 2013 Summit League Golf Championship on Wednesday, firmly cementing her name as one of the best women’s golfers to ever play at South Dakota State.
The Brookings native carded rounds of 76 and 77 on the first two days of the tournament and finished with a 54-hole score of 234, including a birdie on her very last collegiate 18th hole.
Fitts was named to the All-Tournament Team and was also selected to the All-Summit League First Team on Sunday night at the Summit Golf Awards Banquet.
