BAKERSFIELD, Calif—CSU Bakersfield (20-26) welcomes a future Western Athletic Conference rival in New Mexico State (31-20) to Hardt Field Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.

CSUB and New Mexico State are meeting for the first time before CSUB joins the Western Athletic Conference in time for 2013 where the Aggies are currently a member. The Aggies played at in-state rival New Mexico Tuesday night, losing 12-10 to the Lobos. New Mexico State is 31-20, winning 14 in a row at point this season, but the Aggies have lost nine of their past 10 games.

Zac Fisher is New Mexico State’s leading hitter (.367). Zach Voight has driven in a team leading 54 RBI’s while Robert Lecount paces the Aggies with 11 home runs. Casey Collins (RHP, 3-4, 5.51 ERA) is scheduled to face Spenser Messmore (RHP 3-5, 2.44 ERA) tonight.

Cal Poly took 3-of-4 from CSU Bakersfield over the past five days. The Mustangs defeated CSUB 6-1 on Friday, 11-4 on Saturday, and 6-2 on Tuesday. The Roadrunners defeated Cal Poly 6-4 on Sunday.
