LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Competing in a field of over 1,000 athletes, the CSU Bakersfield men's and women's track and field teams compiled 22 seasonal-best marks and seven personal-best marks on Friday and Saturday at the Tommy "Tiny" Lister Invitational hosted by Cal State Los Angeles.

"It was a good meet for us," said CSB head coach Alan Collatz. "The sprinters and throwers are getting better each week and we hope to continue progressing each week."

The 'Runners got off to a great start at the meet on Friday when the CSUB men's throwers set three personal-best marks and one seasonal-best toss. Thomas Judge (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Garces HS) set a PR in the hammer with a throw of 178-1, freshman Bryan Wilmert (Bakersfield, Liberty HS) also posted a PR in the hammer with a toss of 148-9,  redshirt freshman Karnell Grimes (Rosamond, Claif., Rosamond HS) PRed in the javelin with a throw of 161 and Collin Ellis (R-Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) recorded a seasonal-best toss of 151-11 in the discus.

Leading the women's squad, freshman sprinter Alyssa Page (Santa Rosa, Calif., Montgomery HS) clocked a 12.28-second time in the 100-meter dash and a 24.83 in the 200. On the distance front, sophomore Megan Thompson (So., Fellows, Calif., Taft HS) ran the 800 in 2:19.62.

Other CSUB highlights from the meet included Richard Maestre (So., Bakersfield, Calif., South HS) posting a PR in the 110 hurdles (15.13) and also running the 400 hurdles in 55.93.
