Boiling Springs, N.C. - Sharpshooting guard Jasmine Dale poured in a career-high 20 points, while Catrina Green recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to a 69-52 home conference win over UNC Asheville on Saturday night in Paul Porter Arena.

Behind Dale's 20 points, as she drained a season-high five three-pointers, and Green's 17 points, senior guard Brianna Dillard added 10 points, six rebounds and three steals, while freshman forward Jessica Heilig hauled down nine rebounds in 26 minutes of play.

Freshman KiKi Smith had a career-high seven assists to go along with seven points, while fellow newcomer Mayhana Dunovant had five points, five assists and two steals in the win.

For UNC Asheville, freshman Shonese Jones had a team-high 14 points, while center Leah Wormack added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Gardner-Webb came out of the gates firing, as the Runnin' Bulldogs used a 19-3 run over a seven minute stretch in the first half to run out to a 17 point lead at 26-9 with 9:28 to go in the opening half.

Over the rest of the opening frame, Gardner-Webb's defense allowed the Runnin' Bulldogs to maintain a double digit lead over the Asheville Bulldogs and take a 35-25 lead into the halftime break.

GWU, who is now 3-0 on the season when leading at the half, came out cold in the second half, allowing Asheville to cut the lead to six on two occasions, the last being at 37-31 with 15:34 to go in regulation.

However, a three-pointer by Dale pushed the Runnin' Bulldogs back in front by nine and jump started an 11-3 run over the next five minutes, putting the home team in front once more by 17 at 51-34 with 10:26 remaining in the contest.

The Runnin' Bulldogs would push their lead out to as much as 20 three different times in the final 10 minutes of the game, as an old-fashion three-point play by freshman Eliana Scanlon at the 1:22 mark put GWU in front at 68-48.

Scanlon would add a free throw in the closing seconds, as the Runnin' Bulldogs posted their third double digit win of the season with a 69-52 home win.

Gardner-Webb outscored Asheville 33-18 in points in the paint and held the Asheville Bulldogs to 16-of-51 shooting (29.6 percent) for the contest.

The Runnin' Bulldogs, who shot 24-of-67 (35.8 percent) overall for the game, drained seven three-pointers in the win.

GWU also posted a season-high 18 assists in the victory, while only turning the ball over 13 times.

Gardner-Webb (3-21, 2-12 Big South) will step out of Big South play one final time this season on Monday night, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will travel to Farmville, Va. to do battle with the Longwood Lancers at 7 p.m.

UNC Asheville (7-18, 3-11 Big South) will return to action next Saturday afternoon, as the Bulldogs will hit the road to take on Radford at 3 p.m.
