Wright, Hitchler Compete at OTC Pre-Olympic Series

San Diego, Calif. - Husker thrower Chad Wright rewrote the Nebraska record books Thursday with a stellar performance alongside fellow Husker Tyler Hitchler in the discus at the OTC Pre-Olympic Series in San Diego, Calif., at OTC Chula Vista Track.

Wright, who was the only collegian competing in the finals, finished with a throw of 204-0 (62.18), recording a personal-best mark. His throw ranks second all-time in the Husker records, behind two-time National Champion Carl Myerscough. Wright finished seventh overall in the competition and was the top collegiate finisher.

In addition, Hitchler finished 19th overall with a throw of 191-8 (58.43), the second-best throw by a collegian in the competition.
