Baltimore, Md. (Apr. 14, 2018) --- Delaware State managed just four hits in a doubleheader sweep by Morgan State on Saturday. The Bears won the first game 11-0 and completed the sweep with a 4-0 victory in game two.

In the opener, Morgan State pitcher Stephanie Rundlett allowed just two singles, while Evvie Buehlman was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in to lead the Bears’ 10-hit attack.

Mikaela Browdy and Hope Kinny also drove in two runs for Morgan State.

The Bears led 3-0 before scoring seven runs in the second inning to break open the game, which ended after Delaware State batted in the fifth inning due to the eight-run rule. .

Khaliyah Flournory and Vanessa Washington each singled to account for the DSU hits.

In the nightcap, Amy Begg an Rundlett combined on a two-hitter for the Bears.

The game was scoreless until Morgan State scored two runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Jasmine Melgoza and Micaela Cummings had the only hits for the Hornets.

Morgan State improved to 9-2 the MEAC (20-13 overall), while Delaware State dropped to 7-4 in the MEAC and 9-25 overall.

The teams are scheduled to wrap up the series with a single game at Morgan State on Sunday.
