Dover, Del. (Sep. 12, 2017) --- The Delaware State soccer team is back in action for the first time since Sep. 3 with a Thursday 7 p.m. match against George Washington at the DE Turf Sports Complex in Frederica.
The Hornets’ extended break was due in part to the cancellation of contests at The Citadel and Charleston Southern last weekend due to Hurricane Irma.
Delaware State is seeking its first win (0-7), while George Washington is 3-2-1 this season.
DE Turf will also host Delaware State soccer’s Oct. 9 contest against Loyola-Md. (7 p.m.).
Delaware State University will provide bus transportation for DSU students attending the games at DE-Turf. The 85-acre state-of-the-art sports complex consists of 12 synthetic turf fields for soccer, lacrosse, field hockey rugby and ultimate Frisbee.
Since opening last spring, DE Turf has hosted numerous youth, high school and regional events, including championship competitions.
The Delaware State women’s lacrosse team has also scheduled contests at DE Turf during its 2018 season.
