Women's Lacrosse Newcomers Earn Local Honors

The Canisius College women’s lacrosse incoming freshmen class is already being recognized for their success. Five of the 10 incoming freshman for head coach Scott Teeter have been named All-Greater Rochester by the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.

Megan Maloney (Victor High School) and Claire Bollin (Webster Schroeder High School) were both named to the first team as midfielders and Lauren Smolensky (Brighton High School) was named as an attacker. Nicole Nelson (Webster Thomas High School) was named to the honorable mention team as a defender and Rebecca VanLaeken (Canandaigua High School) was honored as a goalie.

Along with the 10 incoming freshman, Canisius, the four-time defending MAAC champion, returns 21 letterwinners from the 2014 squad that went 12-7 overall and 6-2 in MAAC play.
